Back in September 2017 I was privileged to work with James and Kerrie Photography on a styled shoot which has now been published on Want That Wedding.
The colour scheme for the shoot was blush pinks, whites and greens, and the overall look was to be timeless and romantic. James and Kerrie are lovers of eucalyptus and succulents so I therefore chose to focus on lots of green foliage in my designs choosing two varieties of eucalyptus, as well as succulents large and small and varying in colour.
For the bridal bouquet I chose berried eucalyptus to create a dramatic, arching effect which, combined with a touch of wild flowers, contributed to the overall natural and unstructured design which I love to create.
As a supporter of British grown blooms I sourced the majority of the flowers for the bridal bouquet from Plant Passion, a flower grower situated near Guildford, Surrey. A stunning Cafe au Lait Dahlia in a beautiful soft pink provided a focal point alongside a purple succulent. White snapdragons, Cosmos, Ammi and blush pink garden roses, all grown on the flower farm, provided the perfect compliment, as well as a touch of silver Dusty Miller foliage which brought out the silver tones in the baby blue variety of Eucalyptus used in the bouquet. Some larger blush pink roses were also used to bring a softer touch alongside the more angular petals of the Dahlias.
The bouquet was finished with beautiful trailing natural silk ribbons sourced from Silk and Purl (www.instagram.com/silkandpurl/).
Similar foliage and flowers were used throughout the other floral decorations, including the table garland and table plan. The bride wore delicate garden roses in her hair accompanied by soft clary sage foliage in white and green. This was also used in the groom’s boutonniere alongside a mini succulent, a succulent flower in tones of green and pink, and of course, a touch of Eucalyptus.
